In her songwriting, Whitley Jean gives a voice to her past through her music. The people who have influenced her life the most are woven throughout her stories and complemented with soothing melodies and honest lyrics. Growing up in a small community outside of Newark, OH, her music focuses on pulling out characters from her past to explore love, heartbreak, poverty, addiction, and the journey of healing.

The Attic Cats

Whitley Jean & The Attic Cats found their name through countless jam sessions in the attic, where their collective passion for music was nurtured. Each founding member had beloved feline companions, thus solidifying their bond as "cat enthusiasts." What initially began as a casual gathering quickly evolved into a captivating five-piece band. Drawing inspiration from their shared love for Americana, folk, pop, and rock, The Attic Cats have developed a signature sound that seamlessly blends storytelling with infectious melodies.
